Assemble your Esports Training Plan using Modules

Post date :

19 Jan 2024

We at ECA strive to bring you and your trainees the best content possible for your youth esports programs.

Now, at the start of 2024, we are introducing Modules to take our content and your training experience to the next level.

What are Modules?

A Module is a collection of Training Sessions centered around a particular subject. These sessions are arranged linearly, and throughout the Module, the trainees will progress through the different training sessions connected to the subject in question.

During a Module, the coach will guide trainees towards specific goals and learning objectives that are unique to the Module.

These might aim to improve our in-game mechanics and skills. For instance, practicing our goal-scoring and improving our shooting accuracy in Rocket League. Alternatively, we might have knowledge-based objectives that aim to increase our understanding of essential concepts and game elements. For example, understanding the concept of rotating (taking turns to challenge the ball) when playing team-based modes in Rocket League.

Module Example: Teamwork 101

Let's look at an example of one of our upcoming Modules for our Spring 2024 Fortnite Course.

The "Teamwork 101" Module is scheduled for Sessions 5-7 of the Course's training curriculum. The main objective of this Module is to teach the importance of good teamwork and communication when playing Fortnite.

To achieve our goal, the group partakes in the three training sessions that are part of the Teamwork 101 Module. Each session may focus on different elements of the overall goal. Still, as a whole, the Module and its Sessions are designed to emphasize the importance of teamwork and communication through various exercises and activities.

With this approach to esports training, we create a more comprehensive training environment for each individual to learn, progress, and improve at the game.

Structure your program using Modules

We can assemble Modules in various shapes and sizes, with different subjects and levels of detail in mind.

For example, in a broader approach, we can assemble a 5-6 Session-long introductory Module focusing on the different guns available in Valorant. But at the same time, we can also have a 5-6 Session-long module that focuses just on a single gun, where we cover it to the smallest detail and practice using it repeatedly.

Using the different Modules available, you can shape the program's curriculum around your trainee's needs.

All the Modules and other content listed in the Training Plan will be released on the ECA Platform in the coming weeks and months, starting January 22nd.

Beyond what is listed in our Spring 2024 Training Plan, we'll also be working on releasing more Modules for our supported games throughout the year.

Repetition is key to improvement, and Modules are the key to repetition!
